CIPSM Junior and Gender Support Program

 
  1. Promotion of talented female junior scientists is one of the priority objectives of CIPSM. Female junior scientists with child(ren) deserve exceptionally support, which will be granted with a position for a technical assistant (TV-L E9) conform to the general CIPSM proposal.

  2. Female junior scientists with child(ren) will be supported with domestic help (max. 2400 €/year) conform to the general CIPSM proposal.

  3. Female PhD and post doctoral students with baby will get financial support for childcare expenses (max. 500€/month) conform to the general CIPSM proposal.

  4. In exceptionally cases female junior scientists are eligible to apply for consumbles and/or a PhD package (TV-L E13, 50%, + consumables) to obtain support for their research.

  5. Female researchers are eligible to apply for travel grants to participate in conferences.

  6. Female junior researchers will be supported in their career by experienced female mentors, especially with regard to appointments. Currently, Prof. Dr. Kirsten Jung works as mentor. Please contact her in questions concerning appointments and career. The female mentoring program will be extended in the future.

  7. Symposia will be organized to which high-ranking female researchers are invited. Besides science, they will also talk about their career and experiences as woman in natural sciences.

  8. In regular intervals meetings for all female CIPSM researchers will be organised. They will primarily serve as a platform for scientific exchange inside of CIPSM. At the same time these meetings will facilitate the transfer of informal knowledge and experiences between female professors, junior researchers and PhD students.

  9. Female researchers, who play a pivotal role in the mentoring of gender issues and the organisation of symposia, will get support in their scientific research as compensation for their time and efforts.
